Chelsea Clinton Hints That Jared Kushner is Unqualified for COVID-19 Role

Despite having no background in medical science, Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner has been given an important role in the White House’s COVID-19 response. The early returns on his performance have been far from inspiring.

Chelsea Clinton, who’s Mother nearly won the Presidency in 2016, has a much different background in science. The Stanford grad earned a Masters in Public Health at Columbia. Still, the former first daughter says that she would be unqualified to fill Kushner’s current role.

On Tuesday, Clinton tweeted, “Multiple failures-to test every suspected case, to isolate confirmed cases, to contract trace to adequately prepare & protect our health workers. President Donald Trump didn’t cause COVID-19 but people are dying because of this failure in public health, leadership & humanity.”

On Thursday, activist Rachel R. Gonzalez tweeted, “Imagine Hillary Clinton in the White House putting Chelsea Clinton’s husband, Mark, in charge of handling the COVID-19 situation. And when Mark briefed the country, he always praised her. Republicans would go insane, but not if the conflict of interest benefits them.”

Clinton simply responded to that message, “My imagination doesn’t stretch that far.”

The former first daughter expanded on those thoughts on Friday, opining, “Keep thinking: I’ve a Masters in Public Health; wrote my doctoral dissertation on global efforts to tackle AIDS pandemic; co-authored a book on global health governance; teach MPH courses on health systems & global health & I’m not qualified to lead a national COVID-19 effort.”
