CBS: White House and Trump Won’t Allow Dr. Fauci to Speak to Us

There is much confusion and uncertainty about COVID-19. Following his bleach comments, Donald Trump ended press conferences meant to educate the American public on the pandemic. Since then, citizens have had to rely on pressers held by governors like New York’s Andrew Cuomo or California’s Gavin Newsome.

One of the highlights of the White House media events was the presence of Dr. Anthony Fauci. The renowned immunologist’s no-nonsense approach earned him fans nationwide. But Fauci has not been seen much on American television over the last few months. According to CBS’s Margaret Brennan, that’s because the White House is blocking him from speaking.

Brennan made the claims during Sunday’s episode of Face the Nation. She told viewers:

“We are committed to bringing you the facts about the virus and the most knowledgable guests that we can. We think it’s important for our viewers to hear from Dr. Anthony Fauci and the Centers for Disease Control. But we have not been able to get our requests for Dr. Fauci approved by the Trump administration in the last three months, and the CDC — not at all. We will continue our efforts.”

Fauci, though, has been in demand in other countries. The White House hasn’t seen fit to prevent these interviews. The Doctor told the BBC this week, “There is a general anti-science, anti-authority, anti-vaccine feeling among some people in this country (The US) – an alarmingly large percentage of people, relatively speaking.”
