Caught Red-Handed: Cheating Wives Unraveled During Pregnancy

Being a soon-to-be parent is one of the most exciting news someone could ever receive. A child could turn your world around, but being a better person for them makes the pregnancy journey meaningful. But along with the excitement, what if once you had a glimpse of your “hope” it all turns out to be a lie?

These Redditors share stories of paternal discovery where the baby was not theirs. Nothing hurts like the feeling of a father being fooled for a long time. Come and check this rollercoaster of emotional tales.

1. The Vasectomy Saga

It wasn't at the birth, but: I used to work for a urologist who did vasectomies. He did a vas on a guy, then did the requisite 3-month and 6-month semen analysis follow-up tests to make sure it worked.

The 6-month test showed no sperm, so the guy was all set to not father children. Fast forward two years, and he calls my surgeon fuming, ranting, and raving about how he messed up the vasectomy and now his wife is pregnant.

So the doctor orders another semen analysis. Of course, it comes back totally negative. A very awkward conversation ensued in the exam room that I'd have paid anything to eavesdrop on.

The best part is, the couple left the office pissed off, with the wife sticking to her story that she would never cheat on her husband, and the husband in complete denial that she'd ever lie about that. Last I heard they were gearing up to sue or something, but I don't work there anymore so I don't know what happened.

2. Rollercoaster Of Redemption

A friend went through it. He went down a dark path of illegal substance and we'd lost touch after a big fight about how he was messed up all the time and he was wasting his life.

He contacted me out of the blue to say that I was right. He needed to step up and be responsible and he had quit everything cold turkey because he was going to be a dad. Apparently, he was going to help his girl get sober and they were going to have this kid and get married.

He got himself together throughout the pregnancy. He was clean, got a job, and got a nice place to live. She was not so dedicated. She continued to use illegal substances throughout the pregnancy.

She ended up going into labor early at 26 weeks. She gave birth to a premature baby boy. He went directly into the NICU.

She stayed in the hospital and visited the NICU until she was released. She then disappeared. She never visited the baby, never called to check on it, didn't go home, just fell off the face of the planet.

He however spent every spare second at the NICU with that baby. However, as the weeks passed it became pretty obvious that the baby wasn't his as skin tone evened out and hair came in. Chick was blonde with blue eyes. My friend is super pale blonde with blue eyes.

The baby was half-Hispanic.

He wanted to adopt the baby but they wouldn't let him. The state took it and it went into foster care. It messed him up for a long time. He relapsed for a while and got into a bad car accident.

He spent some time in the hospital and then got everything back together. He's married now to a really nice girl and rapidly had 4 kids that are his with another currently on the way.

3. “Race Reveal” Delivery

My friend was a delivery nurse for the hospital that all high-risk pregnancies go to. They are extremely busy and she has brought a lot of people into the world. She once delivered a baby in the parking lot by herself. This has come up every week, but she shared the best story with us.

A Caucasian couple comes in and the mother is in labor. When the dude is filling out paperwork the mother takes the doctor aside.

She tells him there is a chance that the baby may be of a different race than the father and to let her know as soon as the baby is born.

The baby is born. The doctor turns to the mother and announces loudly, "Congratulations on your WHITE baby boy."

4. Steve’s Lunchbox

Late to the party, but one of my colleagues in Anesthesia once placed an epidural in a heavily tattooed lady. Apparently, she had, "Steve's Lunchbox" tattooed above her female organ.

She then gave birth. The OB/GYN turned to the father in the room and said, "Congratulations, Steve." The guy stated, "My name isn't Steve." No meltdowns or anything, just an awkward moment.

5. Blood Type Blues

My mom is a labor and delivery nurse. One time she had a patient whose parents were present during her stay at the hospital.

The staff there has a whiteboard with some general information about the patients like blood type, time spent in the wing, and like how far along.

This information is nameless for HIPAA reasons and instead has a patient's number.

So this patient happened to be the only one in the wing at the time. Her father was walking back from the cafeteria at one point and noticed the board.

He stopped one of the nurses and asked if the blood type for the patient on the board was correct. He knew his daughter was the only patient there. It was a B+. The nurse confirmed it was correct.

Turns out he knew his and his wife's blood type. He was O+ and his wife was A-. This combination will never yield a B+ baby. He brings his wife out and just points at the board and this look of shock washes over her.

6. The Six-Fingered Surprise

My friend told me this story of hers. A woman and her husband were having their first child and it was the friend's first-ever delivery. She is an OB-GYN. After the baby was delivered, she suddenly looked puzzled.

When she got the baby out she looked at it, then looked at the parents and asked "Okay, which of you has six fingers?" The mother broke down crying yelling I'm sorry to the husband. Their neighbor had 6 fingers.

7. Paternity Plot Twist

My best friend's stepbrother was that guy who found out he wasn't the father because the baby was black. The dude had gone to rehab twice and was doing well. He came back home for a weekend and became intimate with his ex-girlfriend.

He left and went back to his house states away to continue his newfound life. He got the call she was pregnant and dropped everything to come back and be a father. We were really worried he would relapse but he was great.

So 9 months of preparation goes by. He was gonna be an awesome dad. All worries about relapsing were gone and he seemed ready to become the best dad he could ever be.

When the baby comes out. Everybody's happy. The nurse takes him aside after a few minutes and says, "I want to ask you something. You do know that's not your kid right?"

He says, “What do you mean?” The nurse answered, "Well, that baby is at least half black, but the pigments are probably going to darken." So he goes over to his ex-girlfriend and asks if there's anyways what the nurse just told him is true.

She starts sobbing and breaks down completely. She admits that she messed up a black guy right around the time he came back. So he says, "Alright. I'm glad you and the baby are healthy. Have a nice life."

He walks into the waiting room where all the new grandparents are waiting. Cheers. Celebration. "Everything good?" "Yep. Healthy baby. Healthy mom. I'm not the father. I'm outta here." And walked right out the door.

The girl's parents even wanted him to pay and support. He moved back to where he got his life back together and is doing incredibly well. But man, I wish he had all that time back.

8. Baffling Bloodlines

I'm a NICU nurse who was floating to the nursery, a baby was born with a genetic abnormality (had one missing limb) but was otherwise doing fine. The pediatrician was in the parents' room discussing with them the follow-up type stuff for the baby - appointments with a geneticist, an orthopedic surgeon, etc.

At some point in the conversation, the mother asked what the baby's blood type was, to which the pediatrician responded "A+." The father of the baby insisted that was impossible, as he and his wife (this was their third baby) were both O-.

The pediatrician got flustered and came back to the nursery to verify the lab results. The baby was A+. We even went so far as to re-draw the baby's blood and re-test it, nope, still A+.

There is no chance that the baby belonged to that man. The husband left the hospital soon after and didn't show up again until it was time to pick up the mom and baby to bring them home. The mom spent the rest of the hospital stay lying alone, in the dark, mostly hiding under the covers.

9. Multicultural Bonds And Betrayals

This happened in my immediate family. My mother is a white, mixed American, with brown hair, and green eyes and married a full-blooded Japanese man. My two younger brothers and I are very, very half-Japanese.

I, fortunately, had black hair, brown eyes, and a slight cast to my eyes, my brothers looked Japanese as heck in the face, with brown hair which came from my Mom, and lighter eyes.

After the third kid, things weren't going so hot with my mother and father. There were a lot of fights, lots of nights where I would wake up, at the age of 5, and find my dad sleeping on the couch.

My mom got pregnant again, even though they only got physical once after my youngest brother was born. Their relationship continues to deteriorate during the pregnancy. The big day comes, and out comes my baby sister, the last of the bunch.

My sister was born white, with a shock of bright red hair a very pale complexion, and no Japanese features at all. My father's best friend was a tall Danish redheaded dude.

It took my father about 36 hours to put 2 + 2 together. He confronted my mother in the hospital, and she admitted she'd been having affairs with his best friend behind his back since before my youngest brother was born.

The divorce happened not long after that. My father ran away from all that crap. Funny thing? I didn't realize my sister was from another father until I was 16 years old, and my girlfriend asked why my sister looked nothing like me and my brothers.

I asked my mother and got the full story. To this day, she's not my half-sister, she's my sister. We grew up together, and she is my sis, I'm her eldest bro. But yeah. It ended the marriage, more or less on the spot.

10. Uncharted Love

My husband raised a kid that was very obviously not his. The kid was born and was half back and he kept his cool all along. He went outside to smoke a cigarette and throw up.

He married the woman and had another kid (this time his). He got divorced when the second kid was two. There were a lot of ups and downs with the first kid. She turns twenty this year and they get along pretty well right now.

11. Christmas Eve Revelation

A woman was admitted to the hospital on Christmas Eve with abdominal pain after she fell over pissed as a fart, routine pregnancy test was positive and the doctor thought that she was either a bit plump or about 30 weeks pregnant, which she was oblivious to.

She was transferred to obstetrics due to ongoing pain which turned out to be contractions. Her sister comes in while I'm just writing in her notes, and asks about her partner who was on deployment with the army until a month ago. He is already on the way, he knew she was pregnant but not 30 weeks.

He arrives, she pretty much just coughs, and out comes her baby, 8 weeks preterm but not bad condition considering. He quickly puts 2 and 2 together and realizes it's not his. She genuinely doesn't even know what's happening as she is still drunk.

He just leaves and I presume never went back now that he can see what a mess of a partner he has. The next day I reviewed the postnatal ward and she was discharged although her baby was staying in so she would as well.

She asks me what happened. She has literally no idea she was pregnant, admits to having slept with someone but can't remember who, and doesn't remember her partner showing up and dumping her.

I felt sorry for her and her child, she might see this as a massive wake-up call and turn her life around but she had everything stacked against her, single unemployed mother with a baby she was unprepared for.

12. Shades Of Family

There's a family at the elementary school my kids attend. They are Caucasian. They have three kids. The eldest is white, and the younger 2 are mixed-race. I saw this family for the first time at some school event, and we asked around discretely to find out if they were adopted, but nobody knew.

Then, a member of the mother's family moved to our neighborhood, and we asked about the situation.

The story is that the kids are NOT adopted, and they think the mother must be cheating. She has never admitted to her family that the kids have any other father, but it's pretty unbelievable looking at the kids and the "dad.”

The dad stays home with the kids. They got divorced at one point (after the first suspected kid) and then remarried, and then they had another kid (who doesn't look like him). Now, I believe I've heard that she's knocked up again. I wonder what color it will be.

13. Bizarre Escapade

I have this one friend who's always been kind of slower than most. It's a unique situation, his brain uses 40-60% less oxygen than a normal adult male and it's saved his life a few times.

Anyway, a few years back he wound up in jail (dude loves to smoke and drinks like a fish), and when he got out his girlfriend was pregnant. The only problem was she was 6 months pregnant and he had been away for 7 months.

It took the poor guy a little while to figure the math out but when he did he had a major and public blowout with his girl demanding she tell him who it was. Screaming, and throwing stuff, all in front of a ton of people.

She finally caved and it turned out the father was this greasy assistant trailer park supervisor that he had been friends with since he was a kid. It was pretty shocking for me and whoever else was watching, cause everyone had known that guy to be gay for a long long time.

He was even in a committed relationship with the actual trailer park supervisor for years. I fell out of contact with my buddy when he went back to jail again so I don't know what happened to any of them.

Last I heard the grandparents took custody of the baby and the father ended up maiming himself pretty badly while trying to jump over an inflatable cheeseburger.

14. Blood Strands Of Love

My girlfriend's uncle (let's call him Jay) has 3 children (a boy, a girl, and a boy). The two oldest are brunettes, olive-skinned, look very alike, and have very computational brains.

They look very much like their father's children. The youngest child is blond, fair-skinned, looks nothing like his siblings, and has almost no computational element to his brain.

So right after this kid was born, Jay thought something about him was a bit different, just from the blond hair and pale skin. He didn't immediately accuse his wife of infidelity, but his ears were pinned back.

He ends up catching her having an affair within a short period. They reconcile their differences, but it only lasts so long. When their youngest kid is about 4, she leaves him for her partner in crime.

He is the blondest, palest dude of all time, and works in real estate. Jay fights for custody of all three children and wins. He knows his 2nd son isn't his, but he doesn't give a crap.

He told my GF's mom that he always knew things didn't add up, but he will always love him as his son and treat him as such, even if there is no DNA shared between them.

15. Shadows Of Deceit

This is somewhat ancillary to the topic, but one of my dad's best friends when I was younger had a unique situation. Growing up in a relatively diverse area, I didn't think much about this gentleman's son having very dark skin and bushy/curly hair, despite him and his wife being very caucasian.

Years later, this friend of my father's came up in conversation. I asked my mother how old the kid was when they adopted him.

After a pause, my mom tried to trot out a sob story about how a nurse put the kid in the wrong bassinet, but that my father's pal (and his wife) decided to raise the kid as their own out of the kindness of their hearts.

Even at a young age, I knew a steaming pile of crap when I heard it. My dad's pal was such a gullible dude that he bought his wife's explanation for the ordeal. She got a case of jungle fever and sought out some strange.

16. A Palette Of Revelations

My best friend who is black, slept with a girl who is white. She had a boyfriend (white) and he was delighted when she became pregnant. This boyfriend spent a fortune getting their house ready for the bundle of joy, his whole family was massively supportive and excited, so much so that they all came to the hospital for the birth.

So there are 2 large families excitedly waiting for the new addition to the family who are somewhat shocked when the baby comes out black. She's less surprised and says something like "I'm sorry but I need to tell you something."

My friend gets the call and goes in for the DNA test. Not a match. The girl says to her boyfriend, "I'm sorry but there is something else I need to tell you." The next black guy gets a call and it's his! I always wonder how many she might have had to call in!

Don't know too much of the aftermath because my friend did not hang around for long after he discovered it wasn't his!

My ex-girlfriend and I had our baby girl. We are both white. The baby came out white also. Nothing strange there in the meantime. 2 years later when we split up I went for custody of the child.

Since we were not married, DNA testing was required. It came back 99.99% not my kid. The color and heritage features of a family can make all the difference. Sometimes I wonder how many men are raising some other man's child and never know it.

18. Explosive Revelation

We just had one last week at our hospital. A young white couple out pops a black baby. The wife did not even warn him of the possibility that it would not be his kid. Well, the boyfriend who seems like a better human being than the husband, shows up at the hospital right after the birth.

The wife says she wants him, not the husband, so the husband gets violent and starts hurting both of them and has to be arrested. Huge scene! What a horrible way to find out that your spouse has been cheating on you!

19. Shattered Illusions

My childhood neighbors across the street were having a baby. They had two older daughters, cute little blonde-haired, blue-eyed girls. Looked just like their daddy. The couple was social around the neighborhood.

My mom and I even went to her baby shower. Everything seemed fine and dandy until we noticed that right after the baby was born, the family seemed to withdraw. No one saw the baby, which was odd for this social family.

The father rarely was home anymore, and one day he stopped coming home altogether. The mother, two daughters, and baby remained at the house for a year after it all happened, never coming out to talk to anyone.

One day we see the mom carrying the baby boy out to the car. Normally he was wrapped in blankets or had a heavy coat with a hood on. But it was spring, so the weather was nice enough to allow for children to emerge from their winter coats. Along with his mom and two sisters, we see a dark-skinned, curly-haired baby boy. The family moved not too long after that.

20. Workplace Anecdote

I worked with a white guy married to a white woman. She had a baby that was black. He had the baby's picture on his desk and told people the look was a throwback to his American-Indian background.

21. Colorful Beginnings

My dad had to go through a different situation with me. He's a black man who was married to a white woman. My sister came out with dark hair and a tannish skin tone, but when I was born, he had a blond-haired, blue-eyed, white baby.

He thought my mother cheated on him, but decided I was his baby girl and he was going to raise me as his own anyhow. Oddly enough, it turned out my mother HAD cheated on him, but that I am, in fact, his child. I look more like him than her.

I'm not blonde anymore though. My hair went from being white-blonde until I was almost 4 to getting darker and darker every year and settling on a dark brown. But I still have my white skin tone and have to explain to people that I was not adopted by my dad and step-mom, who is also black.

22. Medical Marvels

Not exactly interracial, but still awkward as heck: When I was an intern, we had a 27-year-old woman admitted to the ER threatening to miscarry. She spent about 6 hours in there and after we replenished her fluids and started treating her for a urinary tract infection.

23. Complications Of The Heart

I am not a doctor, but I am a Corpsman in the Navy who works on labor and delivery, and I will tell you in my 3 years on the floor it has happened only twice, that I know of, once where the patient was knowledgable and once were our staff inadvertently instigated the situation by confirming the husband's obvious suspicions.

In the second case, it was because the baby girl that was born had several prominent features usually found in African American babies, such as dark curly hair, and more prominent lips and eyes, as well as one of the tell-all signs which is a Mongolian spot.

The mother and supposed father were both white as white could be and the husband had just come back from a deployment, so we started to have our suspicions as medical professionals.

Investigating further we discovered the babies had a sickle cell trait as well as physically being around 3 weeks younger gestationally than the mom had reported, making the time of conception lying after the husband had left for deployment.

To make matters worse the mother kept asking if her baby's skin would lighten up, confirming our suspicions, to make a long story short. The doctors kindly asked the husband out of the room and explained the evidence to him.

They offered a paternity test if he wanted to be 100% sure, but the man declined and proceeded to walk out crushed, I continued to care for the baby for the remainder of the stay and never saw the husband return.

24. Unseen Consequences

I am a surgeon here with a related story. I do vasectomies, and our general policy is to have the patient submit a semen specimen 6 weeks after the operation so we can confirm it was a success and the patient is indeed sterile.

99% of the patients do this, but some are lost to follow up and we can't confirm it. About 10 years ago, a man and his wife came storming into the office about 18 months post-op, threatening to sue me because she was pregnant.

A check of my records reveals that he never submitted his 6-week semen specimen. So I calm them both down and tell them the first order of business is for him to do this, and we will schedule another appointment after the results are back.

The tests reveal that he is, indeed, shooting blanks! I called the wife into the office to ask her if there was any chance the baby was not his. She admits to me that she had an extramarital affair right around the estimated date of conception. I make it her choice whether to tell him herself versus having me tell him. She said she'd handle it, and I never heard from either of them again.

26. Captured On Camcorder

My mom was witness to this situation in October of 1987 when she had my sister... The girl in the bed next to her had her husband and both their parents there for the birth. The husband had splurged and bought one of those first-gen hard-copy camcorders that rests on your shoulder to film the event.

When the baby was born it was the only black person in the room. The husband dropped the camcorder and ran out of the room, everyone else was shocked, and the mom didn't know what was wrong until they showed her the baby. Cue hysterical crying about how she only cheated on her husband once and didn't think that she had gotten pregnant then.

My friend is a state trooper in Rhode Island. Super nice guy who was always single and then met this pretty hot, super smart woman and they hit it off, fell in love, etc. So the day of their wedding they take their limo back to their house for the whole threshold thing.

He ends up getting in a pretty heated dispute with the driver of the car over what the driver took as racially motivated comments. My friend goes inside to end the argument and his wife stays outside talking to the driver to smooth things over. No big deal, it ends and they get on with what people do post-wedding.

Nine months later sure enough they're at the hospital and delivery time comes. Not only was the kid black but it was black triplets. He never even questions the fact that they might not be his, the wife leaves him for the driver and he's left raising three kids that are not his.

He ends up having some serious mental issues from the whole situation just pushing him over the edge and has to be treated for advanced delusionary schizophrenia with involuntary narcissistic rage.

Luckily he gets on medication, meets someone new, and is still an awesome dad to those three boys. I haven't talked to him in years but it's times like this when I'm reminded to check in on old friends like Charlie.

38. Rollercoaster Of Emotions In The Delivery Room

When I was a student nurse there was this one couple, the mother was Asian and the husband was white. The husband had a brother (African American, he’s adopted from what I remember).

The mother had been in labor for around 12 hours and they were very excited to see their baby. I remember the father had been pacing my entire shift back and forth in the waiting room.

When it came time to mount the mother on the table he asked the doctor if he could be in the room, he was grinning like a madman. It was a very positive energy, you could almost get completely absorbed by it.

The doctor was a nice guy he let us get him some throw-away scrubs and let him stay in the room. All in all the actual birthing process was pretty standard. However, when the baby came out, then came the rough part.

He was a normal healthy half African American boy, around 3 kg. I just looked at the baby then looked at the father and watched his face go from joy to puzzlement to horror in around 10 seconds.

The mother called out for her child and the doctor being all business cut and suctioned the baby. I’m pretty sure at that moment the father broke because he sort of just stepped back and kept saying “what the heck“ under his breath.

I didn’t get to see much of them for the next 2 hours but I was there when the mother was brought to her room. Her husband and his brother were there as well and she was talking to them.

From what I saw she was trying to console her husband and his brother was trying to hug him. The husband kind of just kept shrugging off his brother's arms and crying into his hands. It was a really tough thing to see, but all in all, it wasn’t really as dramatic as you’d expect.

39. Vasectomy Success Turns a Puzzled Father Away

I was a nurse for a urologic surgeon, so there were a lot of vasectomies. The guy came in pissed off that he had gotten his wife pregnant after his vasectomy. He had never originally followed up to make sure his swimmers were dead.

The doctor had him leave a sample to look under the microscope. He went back to the exam room and told him his vasectomy had been successful. He must have been in shock. The guy just walked out.

40. The Curious Case Of Two Babies

I'm a doctor, and the story actually involved my colleague. So I'm friends with this guy who we'll call Nut in med school (we're not close friends, but we have some common friends, and we shared some rotations together), and this girl we'll name Mary (Mary was already married at the time and had a 3-year-old daughter).

Nut and Mary were close, but Mary got held back because Mary got pregnant and therefore had to temporarily stop studying. During that time, me and Nut became interns, and Nut began hanging out often with another girl named Bell.

Nut and Bell weren't that close or physical with each other, so it came as a surprise when 2 months before the internship ended, we found out that Bell was pregnant. Turns out that the two were fooling around the entire time.

Anyway, they graduated, and eventually Bell gave birth to a baby boy, who looked like Nut's miniature clone. It was as if the baby got nothing out of the mother. At all. Some of us even joked that Nut's seed was just that strong that he doesn't create offspring, he creates clones.

Now, Mary eventually caught up with her studies and entered a junior internship so she got to rotate with some of us. And when she showed us the picture of her baby boy, he also looked exactly like Nut.

Note that we knew what Mary's husband looked like, and what Mary's daughter looked like. Her son looked just like Nut. So much so that if you placed her son beside Bell's, you could easily mistake them as twins (we did just that).

Not sure what happened to them now (I moved to a nearby hospital, but I never really talked to any of the three) but last I heard from Nut and my mutual friend, Nut's partner (he claimed he won't marry her) and son were left in a city around 4 hours away (Bell worked there),

Mary's husband, daughter, and son were in the US (Mary's husband was studying aeronautics or smth similar), and Nut and Mary were on duty the same day at the same hospital.

41. Army Drama

My dad told me this story. He was an NCO in the army, and one night he received a call that the wife of one of his soldiers was in the hospital having a baby. His first response was, “Why are you calling me?” It turns out that the wife was 99.9% sure the baby wasn’t his and she needed someone to make sure he didn’t go crazy at the hospital.

So my Dad drives down there, and he finds his soldier trying to push past the doctors into the delivery room. He’s screaming that he has a right to to be in there, etc. My Dad puts his hand on his shoulder (a preface to physically restraining him) and tells him that he can’t go in.

The guy must’ve realized that he really wasn’t getting in there, because he just sank to his knees, started crying, and kept saying “I just wanted to see my son being born.” It was apparent that he wasn’t going to hurt anyone, so they got him to the waiting room.

My Dad left thinking “I just watched the end of someone’s marriage.” Come Monday morning, the guy comes in with the biggest smile, walking around and showing everyone pictures of his black baby (he was white).

Of course, they questioned and ribbed him about it, but he would just proudly say “That’s my son.” The best-case scenario to a messed up situation. I’m not sure how the family is doing now, but it seems like the kid would grow up with a father (or two) who loved him.

42. Hospital Room Revelations

Not a doctor or a nurse. When my wife was in hospital giving birth, there was another girl in the same room. Her husband was absolutely in love with her and her soon-to-be-born son. I spoke a lot with this guy, we talked about how we're gonna play with our kids and so on.

After the birth, I never saw him again, but I saw the child. No way it was his. By the time she was in the hospital, he moved out and filed for divorce. She tried to sue him for child support and won. He left the country and didn't pay. She is struggling with huge financial problems (my wife still has contact with her). No happy ending here.

43. DNA Test Shatters Marriage

A friend of mine had been hearing rumors that his wife was cheating on him. He refused to believe them until he found out one day that there was a trait that was passed from parents to children. I wanna say cleft chin but it's not important.

Anyway, he went and got a DNA test done as he and his wife did not have the trait and it turns out it wasn't his kid. They tested their other two kids and he was only the father of the middle child. The first and third child were from two different guys.

He flipped out and punted her out of the house and she in turn drained his business account and ghosted away while he started divorce proceedings. He lost almost everything but saved his business by changing the name and some other stuff so that it couldn't be used in the divorce settlement.

He managed to keep the dogs which she tried to get custody of. The house was totally in his name so he was able to keep that too. He was really bad for a while and stopped eating but he is looking much better now and he has got a new girlfriend and seems happy again. The two older kids still pop to see him as they are over 18 but he hasn't seen the youngest as she is still a child.

44. When Karma Strikes

My roommate was dating “the psycho chick.” We’ve all met her. Nothing but screaming fights glasses thrown through walls followed by the most insane makeup intimacy of his life.

He knows this is a bad idea but the physical intimacy was good. Well, this girl gets knocked up. He’s stuck with her for 9 months. They go to the hospital together and she splits out the blackest baby you have ever seen and admits on the spot that she cheated on the weekend he was in Las Vegas.

Needless to say, he was outta there like a roadrunner followed by a trail of dust. Poof. While back at home he’s telling me how he dodged a bullet, and I reminded him that he bragged to me about fooling around with a chick in Las Vegas that weekend, and that was Karma.

45. Navigating Doubt And Isolation

This happened to me. She didn't say anything about me possibly not being the father. But, for a host of reasons, I had my doubts. It was pretty obvious I was detached during the delivery. I was also the only male there because her father didn't want to be in the room. My father had passed away a couple of months earlier.

I felt lots of pressure from the nurses and female doctors to cut the umbilical cord and sign all the forms. Everyone I told I had doubts about basically told me I was being the bad guy and not supporting her.

I felt so alone during that time. Even my mother wasn't on my side. Even she told me I needed to stop being such a horrible person and support this woman. It was crazy unfair to me. I was absolutely at a loss for most of the pregnancy.

1 week after the baby was born, I got the baby tested. Turns out I was right all along. The baby was not mine. And it wasn't until then, that the mother came clean about everything.

Both the mother and child are out of my life now, but to be honest, I still feel a bit like I abandoned that child and I don't know if this feeling will ever go away. I wish the child the best and hope the child is raised in the most excellent of ways.
