Carly Fiorina, Who Donald Trump Memorably Insulted, is Backing Joe Biden
Carly Fiorina had a spectacular business career, beginning as an AT&T management trainee and ending as the CEO of Hewlett Packard. Her political career didn’t go anywhere near as well, as she lost her 2010 California Senate bid. Fiorina sought the 2016 Republican nomination, but her most notable moment may have been when Donald Trump insulted her looks.
Despite the criticism from the now President, the former tech CEO still voted for Trump in 2016. She won’t be doing the same in 2020. During a recent podcast appearance, Fiorina said that she will be voting for Joe Biden in 2020.
Fiorina made the comments while appearing on The Atlantic’s The Ticket podcast. “I’ve been very clear that I can’t support Donald Trump,” she said. “And elections are binary choices.”

The former Senate hopeful continued:
“As citizens, our vote is more than a check on a box. You know, it’s a statement about where we want to go, and I think what we need now actually is real leadership that can unify the country. I am encouraged that Joe Biden is a person of humility and empathy and character. I think he’s demonstrated that through his life. And I think we need humility and empathy everywhere in public life right now. And I think character counts.”
Fiorina closed her comments, “I’ve been public in my disappointment about how few politicians have been willing to stand up and speak on values and principles. But I understand it if you’re in politics, sadly. So I—people, I think, are tired of politics and politicians and whether they’re Democrats or Republicans. If you’re in politics, as Hillary Clinton used to say, you’re in it to win it.”
