Carlson: Some Media Members Hate America More Than Putin Does
Tucker Carlson has been talking about Russia a lot lately. Last week, the Fox News host said that he is rooting for Russia in its conflict against Ukraine. He later said he was kidding, but then repeated the sentiments again during last night’s broadcast.
Carlson also felt the need to compare his competitors in the news media to the Russian president. According to the Fox News host, some of them, especially MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, hate America even more than Vladimir Putin.
The Fox host took significant umbrage with an interview Todd conducted this weekend with Louisiana Senator John Kennedy. At one point, the MSNBC host said to his subject, “You realize, the only other person selling this argument outside the United States is this man, Vladimir Putin.”
Carlson blasted his competition over at MSNBC, saying, “It turns out the entire on-air staff over at MSNBC is still pretending that Russia collusion is the most important story there is.” He then defended the Russian President, “If you excluded debunked conspiracy theories, could any of these people actually tell you why Vladimir Putin is so bad? Why is he so bad?”
The Fox News pundit ended the segment by contrasting Putin and the news media. “The irony, of course, is that Putin, for all his faults, does not hate America is much as many of these people do,” he said. “They really dislike our country. And they call other people traitors? Because they’re ‘mouthing the talking points of Putin!’ These are people who don’t know anything about Russia, who don’t speak Russian!”
