Since she became a Conservative in 2017, Candace Owens had become an important figure for the Alt-Right. Her Blexit movement captured the attention of Donald Trump and rap superstar, Kanye West. Owens was even called to Capital Hill for a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Hate Crimes and White Nationalism.
The Conservative provocateur typically uses her large platform to criticize Liberals on issues like race and gender. Owens took to Twitter yesterday to mock photo’s taken of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at the Tornillo Texas child migrant detention center. While the pictures were taken nearly a year ago, they were just released this week.
Photographer Ivan Pierre-Aguirre shared the pictures on Twitter, writing, “Before AOC hit the national stage & was just a fairly unknown House candidate frm NYC,she took time awy frm her campaign & came dwn to Tornillo to protest the tent city housing migrant children.I made these previously unpublished fotos a yr ago today.”

Owens looked at the pictures as a glamour session and recreated them. The Conservative activist wrote, “I decided to stage a photoshoot just like AOC! Except I’m outside of an inner-city school where the conditions are abhorrent and the majority of black AMERICAN boys can’t pass a basic reading exam. Maybe the liberal media will give this epidemic some attention now?”

Candace Owens has gotten herself in social media trouble in the past. In May of this year she was suspended from Facebook for a period of time. She appealed directly to the President, “Dear Donald Trump, My Facebook page has been suspended for 7 days for posting that white supremacy is not a threat to black America, as much as father absence and & liberal policies that incentivize it, are. I am censored for posting the poverty rates in fatherless homes.”
