Campaign Suicide: Charlamagne Tha God Warns Biden not to Pick Klobuchar as Veep
While the polls thus far have been very promising for Joe Biden, they are sure to tighten up around election day. Minority voting will be very important to Biden’s hopes of capturing the White House. One way the former Vice President could excite these voters is by selecting a woman of color as his running mate.
Charlamagne Tha God recently interviewed the Democratic hopeful for his hit radio show. During a weekend interview with Joy Reid the radio host said that if Biden was to pick Amy Klobuchar, it would depress the black vote.
Reid asked how it could affect the black vote if Biden was to select a non-minority candidate like Amy Klobuchar. “On top of Russian interference and voter suppression, Dems have to worry about voter depression,” Charlamagne told the MSNBC host. “That’s people staying home on election day because they just aren’t enthused by the candidate.”
The radio host also explained that Biden needs to do more for the African American voting bloc. He continued, “You can’t act like this is the most important election ever and just run a campaign from your basement and not, you know, make some real policy commitments to the black community. You know, not listen to some of the demands the black community are making.”
Charlamagne was also asked about Biden selecting Klobuchar as his running mate by the Washington Post. “I think that would be suicide for Joe Biden’s campaign,” he answered. “If he did that, especially at this moment, after the comments that he made. . . . He would be a fool not to put a black woman as his running mate.”
