Bruce Springsteen to Donald Trump: Put on a F*cking Mask
Many musicians prefer to stay out of politics so that they do not alienate any of their listeners. Bruce Springsteen stands on the other side of that spectrum. The New Jersey-based rocker has written songs about the plight veterans, police brutality and the 2008 economic crisis.
And Springsteen has let it be known that he is no fan of Donald Trump. Following the Presidents election, the rock star told an Australian crowd that he was ashamed to be an American. During a Wednesday radio interview, Springsteen again hit Trump saying he needs to “put on a f*cking mask.”
The musician began the interview by talking about the pain COVID-19 has caused the country, “With 100,000 plus Americans dying over the last few months and the empty, shamed response from our leaders, I’ve been simply pissed off. Those lives deserve better than being simply inconvenient statistics for our president’s reelection efforts. It’s a national disgrace.”

Springsteen continued by noting how this virus is so different from others, “This is the cruelty of this disease. To say our last goodbyes to our loved ones by phone and then to return home alone to an empty house. It is a heartbreaking and lonely death for those afflicted and for those left behind to pick up the pieces.”
The rock and roll legend then spoke directly to the President, saying, “With all respect, sir, show some consideration and care for your countrymen and your country. Put on a f*cking mask.”
