Brevard, FL PD Recruiting Cops Fired/Disciplined for Brutality in Other Cities

The George Floyd protests that are still going strong began on May 26th. The demonstrations, which have included bouts of violence at times, do not seem to be slowing down. If anything the movement looks to be growing in size.

Some of the violence has come from demonstraters. Police officers have also been caught on video roughing up peaceful protesters. High profile cases occurred in Atlanta, Buffalo and Minneapolis. The Brevard County Police Department recently said in a Facebook post that they would be happy to hire the cops involved.

The posts have since been deleted, but have been preserved online. In the first, the department wrote, “Hey Buffalo 57….and Atlanta 6… we are hiring in Florida. Lower taxes, no spineless leadership, or dumb mayors rambling on at press conferences….Plus…we got your back!”

Two officers in Buffalo were filmed pushed a 75 year old man to the ground, causing him to bleed from his head. The other 55 officers resigned from the emergency response team in protest of those cops being disciplined.

The 6 officers in Atlanta were filmed pulling two college students from their car so they could use stun guns on them.

The page also reached out to Minneapolis officers. The city has discussed the possibility of disbanding its police force. The Brevard PD wrote, “Minneapolis officers….we WILL NOT disband our LE agencies or give in…we are hiring in Florida. Lower taxes, no spineless leadership, conflicting orders or dumb mayors rambling at press conferences. Plus…. we got your back!”
