[BREAKING] Donald Trump Jr. Spoke With Jan 6th Committee

Another one of Donald Trump’s adult children has spoken with the January 6th House Select Committee, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday based on information from two people familiar with the matter.

Donald Trump Jr. sat for his interview on Tuesday comes as the bipartisan House committee moves closer to his father’s inner circle of family members and political advisers. Trump’s sister Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, have also given detailed information to the panel, including Donald Trump’s actions during the riot itself.

Trump Jr. is of interest to the Select Committee because of his proximity to his father on the day of the riot. He was seen backstage at the rally on the White House Ellipse that took place shortly before Trump supporters marched to the Capitol and breached the building.

In several social media videos posted at the time of the January 6th insurrection, Trump Jr. was seen with Kimberly Guilfoyle — then his girlfriend, now his fiancee — and other members of his family as his father prepared to make a speech that investigators believed rallied supporters to act violently that day. Guilfoyle has also given testimony to the House Select Committee.

The House Select Committee has also released text messages from Jan. 6 in which Trump Jr. pleaded with the White House to get his father to forcefully condemn the riot. CNN reported that Trump Jr. sent a text message to former White House Chief of Staff Meadows days after the 2020 election describing a plan to have then-Vice President Mike Pence refuse to count Electoral College votes in a bid to stop President Joe Biden’s victory.
