He Was Terrified By The Smell
Andrew let out a huge sigh of despair as he flung the pillow to the floor. The sound had been echoing around his area for a while. How was he going to be able to get some rest?

The youthful boy got out of bed with a long breath, wanting to resolve the circumstance. As he moved closer to the window, a familiar aroma came to his nose. Andrew plugged his nose with his pajamas and peered out of the window, yet his mood decreased when he perceived what was in front of him.
No One Listened
Andrew had long been looking forward to this exciting moment. From a young age, he had been enthusiastic about Halloween and now it was almost here.

This year, something extraordinary occurred to the young man. It was wholly different from anything he had ever experienced before and he was scared out of his wits. Initially, he informed his parents concerning it but they didn't believe him. Nevertheless, eventually they did.
A Strange Occurence
On that day, Andrew had almost not remembered the strange events that had taken place the prior evening. It was Friday and the young boy was incredibly eager to leave school and go home.

For the past several days, his mother had been working diligently on his outfit and he could not wait to put it on once he got home. He had no idea what was in store for him that evening.
Going Home
When the school bus got to Andrew's neighbourhood, he scrambled out. It was a short walk from the bus stop to his home. He'd already decided that after he got to his place, he would get something to eat, put on his outfit, and then go to the park to meet his pals.

He hadn't noticed it, yet his dwelling was visible, but that was not what attracted his attention. When he saw the decorations in his neighbor's yard, his face lit up with joy.
Decorations
The decorations were extremely spooky, as if taken straight from a horror film. Michael Myers and Laurie Strode stood at the doorway while the garden had been transformed into a shockingly realistic-looking graveyard.

Andrew was overjoyed. He was amazed at how realistic it was. He thought about whether the neighbor, Mr. Johnson, would allow him to utilize it.
Curious
Andrew rushed forward, desperate to get a look at the terrible view. His parents typically kept him away from the scary stuff, so he was naturally curious.

He quickly made his way to the sidewalk in front of Mr. Johnson's house. He looked around carefully to make sure no one was watching him before he entered the front yard, not knowing what would happen next.
It Haunted Him
He made his way to the starting point of the burial, his eyes full of eagerness. But as soon as he leaned in to take a better look, a smell hit him. Instantly, the foul odor was in his nostrils and it was unlike anything he had experienced before, coming from the grave.

The confused young person left in a perplexed state. What was that scent? As he stepped away from the situation, he heard an unforgettable noise. One that had been reverberating through his visions the night prior.
A Good Life
Andrew Griffin's parents were very loving towards him while he was a youth in Albuquerque, New Mexico, providing him with whatever he desired and treating him with excessive affection.

He went to an outstanding school with remarkable peers and teachers. It was his dad's wish for his son to have a pleasant upbringing.
Safety First
Ashton Griffin, the father of Andrew, was an influential police officer in the region. He taught his son the complete knowledge about safety and security during his lifetime.

Ashton's goal in life was to protect his son in any situation. He served as a fine model to his boy, and Andrew wanted to be just like him when he grew up.
Their Family
They inhabited an uneventful region on the outskirts of a scenic city close to Andrew's school. Ashton worked at a large city police department and Alissa was a stay-at-home mom.

Andrew had a tranquil life. His parents were determined to protect him from the dangers of the globe, and they promised to always keep him secure. They were unaware that a difficulty was concealed in the garden of their neighbor.
Something Strange
It was Thursday night when it started. Andrew was very fond of this time since Halloween was around the corner. He enjoyed putting on scary costumes and receiving treats as a bonus.

That evening, something unusual happened. Andrew was sleeping in his bed when he saw the first sign that something wasn't as it should be.
A Nightmare
Andrew was sound asleep, but a terrible nightmare interrupted his rest. He dreamt that robbers were climbing a ladder to get into his bedroom through the window.

He yelled desperately in his sleep, yet no one responded to his plea. The sound of the criminals hitting his window seemed so real in his dream, but only moments later, he woke to realize the noise was not from his sleep.
Questions
Andrew heard a loud banging close to his window, which greatly alarmed him. His forehead was dripping with sweat and his hands shook as he yanked the blanket up to cover his head.

He lacked the courage to rise and determine the source of the mysterious sound. Was it burglars outside his window or something else? Eventually, the young boy was able to drift off to sleep, oblivious to the surprises that the next day held.
The Next Day
The following morning started off like any other. Andrew almost forgot about the odd occurrences from the night before. It was Thursday and he was excited to be done with school and go back home.

For a few days, his mother was making an outfit, and he was excited to wear it once he arrived back home. He had no clue what he was about to find.
He Had Plans
When the school bus arrived at Andrew's house, he disembarked quickly. The journey from the bus stop to his home was not far. He had already determined that when he reached his residence he would have a snack, put on his outfit, and then go to the park to meet his friends.

He put together his home quickly, but he wasn't paying attention to that. He beamed with joy when he saw the decorations in their neighbor's garden.
The Horror!
The decorations were truly frightening. Michael Myers and Laurie Strode were hidden on the doorstep while the lawn had been changed into an incredibly believable graveyard. It was incredibly frightening!

Andrew was really excited and couldn't keep his joy inside. It looked almost real. He thought to himself if his neighbor, Mr. Johnson, would let him use it.
A Better Look
Andrew hastened his pace, striving to catch a glimpse of the appalling sight. His mom and dad rarely gave him permission to experience the ghastly domain, and it was only understandable that he was curious.

He ran to the path that went up to Mr. Johnson's house. He looked around carefully to make sure nobody was watching him, and stepped onto the grass, unknowing of what he would come across.
Excitement
He advanced towards the initial graveyard, his peepers open wide with enthusiasm. But when he stooped down to get a better look, he got a smell of something. Immediately, he felt nauseous. It was an aroma he had never come across before and it appeared to be emanating from the tomb.

The youth was baffled and he took a step back in amazement. An unfamiliar aroma floated around and he had no idea what it was. As he backed off, the same noise he had heard the night before resonated in his head, one that had woken him up during the night.
The Same Sound
Andrew was so scared he could hardly think. He was looking at the scene in front of him and hearing the same sound from the night before. It was giving him the chills and he had no notion of where it was coming from.

He looked at the tiny gravestone. It was so realistic it made Andrew feel uneasy, but when he got closer he was hit with a terrible smell. It was the most awful thing he had ever smelled and it made him scared, so he chose to call the cops right away.
Panic
When his father answered the phone, Ashton was overjoyed to hear his son's voice. He thought the young man wanted to get back in contact, but when he heard the fear in his son's speech, he was frozen.

Dad, you need to return. Something is occurring in Mr. Johnson's yard and it looks like it could be a problem. He attempted to inform his father of it, he even said he heard something strange during the night, but his father wasn't paying attention.
An Explanation
Ashton tried to comfort his child and proposed that the stink was most likely the result of the compost or decorations, and there was no need to be alarmed. He hypothesized the clamor was likely from an animal.

He released a deep breath, "There must be something in the graveyard.
Go Home
The boy's father paid no attention. "It's probably part of the decoration, okay, son?" His father smiled and asked him to go back home. He did not want to, but he decided to do what his dad said.

On that day, there were times when a loud sound and smell would come and go. Andrew peered out of his room window, but he didn't see anything unusual in his neighbor's yard. If he had been conscious of what was taking place, how different the situation would have been.
He Was Scared
As night came, Andrew was scared. The rapping had become more pronounced and then he heard some sounds from his neighbor's yard, but he was not able to identify what was occurring.

Possibly Andrew had been persuaded that something mysterious was at play. He hadn't met up with Mr. Johnson all day. Was he okay? Andrew was worried.
Bedtime
A new study has determined that the use of certain technologies can have a positive effect on the mental health of teenagers.

Before he noticed, the time for rest had arrived, and he understood it would be a demanding night. Andrew put on his nightwear and scrambled into his bed, never removing his eyes from the window.
He tried to keep his mind away from the genuine decorations in his neighbor's garden, but then he was frightened. He curled up on his bed and closed his eyes tight.
Silence
At first, his bedroom was completely peaceful. Not even the wind rustling through the trees was audible. But this didn't last long; after half an hour, the clamor was back.

He clutched his pillow and placed it over his head, hoping it would dampen the sound. But the minutes kept passing and the noise continued. He was petrified. What was happening out there?
An Obnoxious Sound
Andrew was fed up. He tossed the cushion with a loud bang. The persistent sound had been ringing through his room for hours, making it hard for him to relax.

The juvenile man got up from his sleeping area with a strong breath, enthusiastic to discover the secret. As he went towards his window, the familiar smell filled his nose. Andrew put his pyjama arm over his face and looked out, but his disposition crashed when he observed what was in front of him.
Staring At Him
As the evening drew near, he identified a miniature grave area. He was shocked to observe a tiny, light-colored countenance looking at him from afar, its pupils wide.

Andrew was petrified and couldn't help but let out a loud shout as he ran out of his room and hid beneath the bedspread. He was wondering if what he saw was a decoration, but it wasn't; it was alive.
Helping Him
His parents were shocked by the loud noises coming from his room and rushed in. They saw him sobbing and hiding under his blanket. His dad asked, scared by the loud cry that had woken him up, "What's going on? What happened?".

The youthful child was crying when he shouted, "There's something in our neighbor's yard and it was staring at me!" His mom quickly ran to the window and was amazed by what she saw. "Darling, come and take a peek at this," she asked her partner.
Laughing
Ashton strolled to the window and glanced in, and Andrew was surprised to hear his dad laughing from inside. “Mr. Johnson will be very pleased to hear that we located Evie,” He said.

Andrew gave his father a befuddled look. "Mr. Johnson has been desperately searching for his pet Lesser Anteater, Evie, who disappeared two nights ago. I'm going to tell him I saw her," Ashton declared before he walked out of the area.
An Explanation
Despite this, Andrew was still feeling worried. It was an unpleasant night for him and he couldn't make sense of the smells or the sounds. Eventually when the sun rose, he found out the explanation. Mr. Johnson made a visit to him.

The elderly man thanked the young person for finding his beloved animal. As they talked, Mr. Johnson shared some interesting information. "We washed her last night. If you don't do it regularly, it makes a strong odor. My yard was stinking last night. I saw that she was changing the decorations in the yard and she was eating from an ant hill in the yard too.
Instantly, Andrew realized the source of the smell and sound. Evie had been roaming the area and picking up ants. Andrew felt silly for being scared. To thank him for solving the issue, Mr. Johnson allowed Andrew to enjoy his yard with its awesome decorations. In the end, everything worked out alright.
