Bobbi Kristina Passes Away at 22, Stars React

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, passed away on (Sunday) July 26th. The 22-year old was being treated at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Georgia. “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months,” the Houston family statement read. Brown was found unresponsive in her bathtub back in January, and she had been in a medically induced coma for nearly five months. In June, Brown was moved to a hospice facility. Her legendary mother, Whitney Houston, was also found unconscious in a bathtub in 2012. Houston’s death was ruled an accidental drowning.

Many celebrities are paying tribute to the young Bobbi Kristina on social media, and they are also sending their condolences to the Houston and Brown family. Oprah Winfrey tweeted, “Peace at Last,” with the hashtag “Bobbi Kristina.” Artist-producer Missy Elliot tweeted, “My heart is truly heavy. May u rest in peace with your mommy. Sending prayers 2 the Brown/Houston family.” Taraji P. Henson tweeted a photo of Whitney Houston hugging Bobbi Kristina (appears to be 1 or 2 years old in the photo) while they both laid in bed asleep. Jermaine Dupri, Kylie Jenner, Rosie O’Donnell, and countless others also paid their respects to Brown.

Bobbi Kristina was born on March 4, 1993 in Livingston (New Jersey). Even though Brown was constantly in the public eye, fans got to know her better when she appeared on her father’s reality television show, Being Bobby Brown. Brown also starred in The Houstons: On Our Own, which was a reality show that followed the family after the death of Whitney Houston. The first episode of the show centered around Bobbi Kristina’s first Mother’s Day without Houston. During the season, Bobbi Kristina mentioned how she had a desire to start a career in the music business. Even though she never got a chance to officially release any of her own music, two days before she was found unresponsive in her bathtub, Brown tweeted about releasing some music. “Let’s start this career up & moving OUT TO YOU ALLLL quick shall we.” The tweet was dated January 29th at 10:56pm.
