Bigoted Pastor Has Profane Homophobic Meltdown Over ‘Sissy Preachers’

Right-wing pastor and failed anti-COVID-19 restrictions crusader Tony Spell of Life Tabernacle Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana threw a tantrum this week because of “homo-effeminate, sissy preachers” that he believes are polluting the clergy.

Spell’s remarks during his church sermon were the latest iteration of a career built upon promulgating ignorance, which conservative Christian extremists gobble up like catnip.

“the world needs to see some manly preachers. There’s enough fag, queer, skinny-jeaned, homo-effeminate, sissy preachers out there with makeup and mascara on their eyes for the camera,” Spell raged into his microphone.

“Isn’t it about time you get some sweat on your forehead? Isn’t it about time you get some dirt on your nails and get some grease on your hands? Isn’t it about time you get some blood on your sword?” Spell continued to yell.

He then called for his followers to commit acts of violence, and although he did not specify who the victims should be, his previous statements are a pretty clear indication that he wants to inflict harm onto LGBTQ individuals.

“Cursed is the man that keepeth his sword from blood. We need heroes in this hour,” Spell bellowed. “Heroes have calloused knees. Heroes might get terminated from their jobs. Heroes get might not not not get invited to the family reunion. But I’d rather have Jesus than silver and gold.”

Spell has plenty of the latter, but Christ’s message of love, peace, and tolerance – much like Spell’s manhood – is nonexistent in his for-profit hate cult.
