Biden Vows to Create Task Force to Reunite 545 Separated Children With Parents on Day One of His Presidency
The Trump Administration has done some terrible things over the last 4 years. Under the president’s watch, there has been bullying, lying and a campaign to take away the voting rights of millions. And, of course, there has been the mismanagement of a pandemic that has seen nearly 230,000 Americans die.
But the worst thing that has been done by this administration is the separation of 545 migrant children from their parents. For a number of reasons, the parents of these children can’t be found. Joe Biden says he will create a task force to reunite the parents and children on day one of his presidency.
Biden hit Trump on the matter during last week’s presidential debate. Trump claimed that the children had been brought over by drug dealers and coyotes. The former vice president responded, “Coyotes didn’t bring them over. Their parents were with them. They got separated from their parents. And it makes us a laughingstock and violates every notion of who we are as a nation.”
And now he’s prepared to do something about it. According to Marianna Sotomayor of NBC News, “Joe Biden is expected to announce his decision to create a task force that would work to unite the 545 children — separated at the border from their parents under Trump — through executive order on day one of his presidency.”
