Biden Says Trump Doesn’t Have the Intestinal Fortitude to Enact Gun Control Measures
The last few months have featured an alarming number of mass shootings. While Democrats have pushed for enhance gun control, Republicans have discussed solutions dealing with red flag laws or building more mental institutions. Nearly all of the Democratic presidential candidates have made gun control an important part of their platforms.
Donald Trump has been accused by his opponents as being unwilling to address gun violence in any way. During a campaign appearance today, Joe Biden claimed that Trump didn’t have the guts to do anything about guns.
Biden made the comments to reporters while in Cedar Rapids, IA, telling them the availability of assault weapons was irrational. “There’s no need for it, and your Second Amendment rights are in no way violated [without them],” he said. “I think there’s no compromise. This is one we have to just push, push, push and push and push.”
The former Vice President continued, “The president has no intestinal fortitude to deal with this. He knows better. What’s he doing? C’mon, this is disgraceful.”
In the past, Biden has shown the ability to tweak the President by appealing to his manhood.
Trump has recently discussed an expansion of background checks. He told reporters in mid-August, “We have background checks, but there are loopholes in the background checks. That’s what I spoke to the NRA about yesterday. They want to get rid of the loopholes as well as I do. At the same time, I don’t want to take away people’s Second Amendment rights.”
