Biden Campaign, Kamala Harris Say That Biden Will Participate in Future Debates
Donald Trump’s Tuesday night debate performance was unlike any ever seen in United States history. In addition to failing to condemn white supremacy, the president spent the entire time yelling over Biden and refusing to let him answer questions. Moderator Chris Wallace had very little control over the fiasco.
So many were left to wonder to why Joe Biden would be willing to participate in another debate. But when asked that question, both Joe Biden’s campaign and Vice President Kamala Harris said he would be willing to do another one.
CNN host Jake Tapper asked Harris if there was any reason for Biden to participate in another debate. She told him, “Joe Biden’s never going to refuse to talk to the American people, and have any opportunity that he can to speak directly to American families and speak about the issues, speak the truth, and address the facts of where we are now, but also address the hopes and dreams of the American families and where we could be and Joe’s got a plan for dealing with those hopes and aspirations as well.”
Biden’s campaign manager, Symone Sanders, was asked the same question by MSNBC’s Brian Williams. She replied, “Well, look, Brian, first and foremost, you know, tonight you saw Joe Biden multiple times turn to the camera and speak directly to the American people at home. And so I think that’s the upside.”
