Biden Calls for Trump’s Ukraine Transcripts to be Released

An anonymous Washington white-blower recently revealed that Donald Trump may have asked the Ukraine to investigate potential opponent Joe Biden. Republicans, especially the President, have claimed that the focus should not be on Trump, but on the whistle-blower.

Conservative messaging from the White House and on cable news focused on the character of the anonymous source, painting them as a snake. Biden spoke out on the matter Friday, calling for the White House to release the transcripts of the calls.

The Biden campaign released a statement that read, “If these reports are true, then there is truly no bottom to President Trump’s willingness to abuse his power and abase our country. This behavior is particularly abhorrent because it exploits the foreign policy of our country and undermines our national security for political purposes.”

The Biden team continued, “It means that he used the power and resources of the United States to pressure a sovereign nation—a partner that is still under direct assault from Russia—pushing Ukraine to subvert the rule of law in the express hope of extracting a political favor.”

Trump was asked about the matter while speaking with reporters at the oval office on Friday. According to the President, his conversations are not a public matter. He told the press that any of his conversations that he has with world leaders are always appropriate.

He then continued by slamming his potential 2020 challenger. “It doesn’t matter what I discussed, but I’ll tell you this, somebody ought to look into Joe Biden’s statement, said the President.”
