Bernie Sanders attacked Donald Trump over Twitter on Tuesday, saying that the President's AI freakout is a way to prepare the media for his lies about the election in the fall.
Donald Trump is having a really, really hard time running against Kamala Harris instead of Joe Biden. He is particularly incensed at Harris's popularity and huge rallies.
Trump had such a hard time that he claimed that pictures and videos showing massive numbers of people supporting Harris were AI-generated. Sanders shared a statement, captioning it, "Donald Trump may be crazy, but he's not stupid. When he claims that “nobody” showed up at a 10,000 person Harris rally in MI that was live-streamed & widely covered by the media, that it was all AI, he is laying the groundwork for rejecting the election results if he loses."
The senator continued:
"Clearly, and dangerously, what Trump is doing is laying the groundwork for rejecting the election results if he loses. If you can convince your supporters that thousands of people who attended a televised rally do not exist, it will not be hard to convince them that the election returns in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and elsewhere are ‘fake’ and ‘fraudulent.'"
The Vermont senator closed by writing, "This is what destroying faith in institutions is about. This is what undermining democracy is about. This is what fascism is about. This is why we must do everything we can to see that Trump is defeated."
