Bernie Sanders Rips Into Trump’s Comments on Jews

Yesterday afternoon, Donald Trump claimed that Jews who vote for Democrats are either misinformed or disloyal to their religion. The comments were immediately condemned, not in the least, because Jewish people overwhelmingly vote for Liberal candidates.

Last night, Presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, who is Jewish, was asked about the President’s comments. The Vermont senator ripped into Trump’s comments and claimed that he was planning on voting for a Jewish man (himself), during the 2020 elections.

Sanders both spoke about Trump’s comments during a campaign event in Sioux Falls, Iowa and referenced them on his Twitter feed. The Democratic hopeful wrote, “Let me say this to the president: I am a proud Jewish person and I have no concerns about voting Democratic. And in fact, I intend to vote for a Jewish man to become the next president of the United States.”

The Vermont senator has also taken offense at the President’s treatment Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar. Sanders blasted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for barring the reps from his country, seemingly at the request of Trump.

Sanders told MSNBC, “If Israel doesn’t want members of the United States Congress to visit their country, to get a firsthand look at what’s going on, and I have been there many, many times, but if [Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu] doesn’t want members to visit, maybe he can respectfully decline the billions of dollars that we give to Israel.”

The President doesn’t seem to be bothered by the criticism. He tweeted this morning about how much Jewish people love him.
