Barack Obama: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 2)

We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about Barack Obama, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more riveting details about our nation’s 44th president that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!

Number Eight: He Has Been Refused Access to the Democratic Convention. When Obama was still just another unknown lawmaker from Illinois, he was denied access to the Democratic convention. He was trying to get a floor pass and could not get one.

Number Seven: He Has a Lot of Siblings. Obama has an impressive eight half-siblings by four other marriages or relationships of his parents. Seven of these eight half-siblings are still alive today.

Number Six: He Has Some Super-Famous Relatives. Success must run in Obama’s blood because his ninth cousin is Brad Pitt! High eight cousin is also Dick Cheney, which is somewhat ironic and also humorous.

Number Five: He Took Michelle to See a Movie on Their First Date. For their first date, Obama took Michelle to see Do The Right Thing, which is a film by Spike Lee.

Number Four: He Is a Comic Book Collector. While he was growing up, Obama collected both Spider-Man and Conan the Barbarian comics. Even the future president is not immune to nerding out every once in awhile!

Number Three: He Was Rejected From a Pin-Up Calendar. While at Harvard, Obama applied to a black pin-up calendar because he wanted to be in it. However, the all-female committee rejected him. We’re guessing they might regret this decision!

Number Two: He Has Read Every Single Harry Potter Book. Obama read every single Harry Potter book with his oldest daughter, Malia. What a great dad!

Number One: He Rarely Drinks. While Obama may have grown up experimenting with drugs and alcohol, he rarely partakes now. In fact, he does not even drink coffee very often, and instead he prefers black forest berry iced tea. However, an interesting note is that he actually has a beer named after him in Kenya!
