Steve Bannon Gives Nancy Pelosi a 10/10 Rating
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-California) is getting praise from an unlikely source: Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist for President Donald Trump.
In an interview aired as part of the Showtime program “The Circus,” Bannon lauded over Pelosi’s tenure as speaker so far, her second stint in the role.
“She’s a war horse,” Bannon said without reservation, according to reporting from Talking Points Memo. “For what she’s trying to accomplish, I think Pelosi’s done a good job.”
And on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest, Bannon unequivocally stated that Pelosi earned the grade of 10.
Bannon especially praised Pelosi’s recent comments on the possibility of impeaching Trump, a process that some in the Democratic caucus are clamoring to start. Pelosi recently stated that she wasn’t for impeachment at this time, and that the likely outcome would simply be more division in the country.
Trump is “just not worth it,” she explained, per reporting from NBC News. But Pelosi is also open to the idea of impeachment further down the road, if “there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan” revealed in current investigations.
Bannon explained in his interview that Pelosi’s message was “perfect.”
Her idea on impeachment, he explained, was “‘if the facts are there, and the American people come along, I’ll reconsider it, but we have the people’s work to do.’ It’s the perfect message.”
Bannon wasn’t the only conservative to laud Pelosi’s comments on the possibility of impeaching the president. Trump himself gave praise to Pelosi for her reservations, sending out a tweet of support to her that was accompanied by another denial of any wrongdoing.
I greatly appreciate Nancy Pelosi’s statement against impeachment, but everyone must remember the minor fact that I never did anything wrong, the Economy and Unemployment are the best ever, Military and Vets are great – and many other successes! How do you impeach….
