Bale Remembers Meeting Donald Trump: ‘He Thought I was Bruce Wayne’

In an interview with Variety, while promoting his new film, Christian Bale reflected on a meeting he had with Donald Trump in 2011 during which the reality-star and real estate mogul spoke to Bale as though he was actually his Batman character.

The encounter, Bale explained, took place while he was filming for The Dark Knight Rises. “We were filming on ‘Batman’ in Trump Tower and he [Donald Trump] said ‘come on up to the office’,” the actor explained.

“I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne,” Bale quipped, “because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne.”

The actor remembers finding the exchange amusing. “I just went along with it,” Bale said, “it was quite entertaining. I had no idea at the time that he would think about running for president.”

Christian Bale spoke to Variety on the red carpet at the premiere of his new film, ‘Vice,’ in which the actor stars as former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Perhaps Donald Trump was just being a fanboy. We may never know the truth.
