AZ Rep. Goes on Twitter War Against Reporter After Being Photographed With Proud Boy

Paul Gosar is an Arizona Congressman who has become notable for not so great reasons. When he was running for office in 2018, six of his siblings made a campaign ad urging Arizonans to vote against their brother. Earlier this year, he was caught tweeting out a doctored photo of Barack Obama and Iranian leader Hassan Rouhani.

And the Arizona representative hasn’t stopped making questionable decisions. On the 4th of July, he was photographed taking a picture with a member of the Proud Boys. When called out by reporter Nick Martin, he went on a mistake-laden tweet storm against the writer.

The photograph of Gosar was initially sent out by NBC’s Vaughn Hillyard. The Informant’s Nick Martin shared the photo, writing, “Here’s Congressman Paul Gosar posing for a photo with what appears to be a member of the Proud Boys, a known hate group. As a bonus, the man on the far left of the photo is wearing a T-shirt for the Oath Keepers, an anti-government extremist organization.”

Gosar quickly responded, “This is Nick Martin, with what appears to be pure speculation motivated by his hate of America and some locals celebrating 4th of July. Nick is a member of a socialist front group called NBC News. He is an enemy of the people.

After multiple people pointed out that Martin, in fact, does not work for NBC News, the congressman had to issue a correction. “Actually, Nick Martin is not with NBC News,” he wrote. “He is with a leftist extremist publication that seeks to undermine America. Vaughn Hillyard is the NBC propagandist.”

As usual, both of Gosar’s messages have been ratioed.
