At Least 4 Shot After Individual Opens Fire At The Capital-Gazette Newsroom in Maryland

Multiple fatalities are being reported at a newsroom for the Capital-Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland this afternoon.  The Capital-Gazette’s newsroom, a subsidiary of the Baltimore Sun, reported the shooting just moments ago at their location on Bestgate Road, off of Defense Highway.  Early reports are already indicating that there are multiple fatalities, and that the suspect has been apprehended.

Authorities are on the scene, sweeping for other possibly threats, but it appears as if the dangerous situation is under control.  We have yet to get details on the total number of fatalities and casualties, but have been told that at least 4 people have been shot.  We will update the story as additional information comes our way.

According to Phil Davis, a reporter at the Gazette, said that the “Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees.”

Davis also added: “Can’t say much more and don’t want to declare anyone dead, but it’s bad.
