AOC Says Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro Rhetoric led to Threat Against Ilhan Omar

Fifty five-year-old New Yorker Patrick Carlineo was arrested on Saturday for making death threats on Congresswoman, Ilahn Omar (D-MN). The man told Omar’s receptionist, “Do you work for the Muslim Brotherhood? Why are you working for her, she’s a (expletive) terrorist. I’ll put a bullet in her (expletive) skull.”

This threatening call came just 10 days after Fox News host, Jeanine Pirro, attacked Ilhan Omar and her choice to wear a hijab. On her Twitter feed, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez connected the dots between Pirro’s rhetoric and the threats on Omar.

The New York Congresswoman wrote:

Understand when Jeanine Pirro goes on Fox + rallies people to think hijabs are threatening, it leads to this. Folks who imply we’re “bad” for politics, the party, the country, etc. have no idea the threats we deal w/ because of that kind of language.”

While Pirro’s comments on Omar were widely condemned, she did have some supporters. Donald Trump tweeted, “Bring back Jeanine Pirro. The Radical Left Democrats, working closely with their beloved partner, the Fake News Media, is using every trick in the book to SILENCE a majority of our country. They have all out campaigns against Fox News hosts who are doing too well.”

Pirro was eventually brought back by Fox News. The host returned to the airwaves this week after a two-week suspension and thousands of Americans calling for the boycott of both her show as well as companies advertising on Fox News during her time slot.
