Ann Coulter: If Trump Doesn’t Build Wall he is “Dead in the Water”

Donald Trump is beginning to realize that he will not have the Democratic votes needed to fund the border wall. Yesterday, Trump invited moderate Democrats to meet with him, but his advances were rebuffed.

Some influential conservatives, however, continue to advise Trump to get the wall built. During an interview with Vice News on Tuesday, Ann Coulter continued to plead with the president to make the wall happen.

Coulter claimed, “It is self preservation, because he is dead in the water if he doesn’t build that wall. Dead, dead, dead.”

Coulter and Rush Limbaugh have been credited with convincing Trump to continue his fight for the wall. In late December, Coulter said that with no wall, “[Trump will] just have been a joke presidency who scammed the American people, amused the populist for a while, but he’ll have no legacy whatsoever.” She continued, “My prediction is his support will evaporate and Trump will very likely not finish his term and definitely not be elected to a second term.”

Limbaugh advised against working with Democrats, “It’s a textbook example of what the drive-by media calls compromise. Trump gets nothing, and the Democrats get everything, including control of the House.”

As the government shutdown continues, it appears that Coulter is trying to convince Trump to hold Strong. Noting the sway her words can have over the president, Congresswoman Jackie Speier had a different idea. She wrote on her Twitter feed, “Dear — Please tell the President it’s OK to open up the government.”
