During an interview with Marco Rubio last night on CNN, Anderson Cooper could answer quickly when the Florida senator complained about characterizations of Donald Trump.
It once seemed like Marco Rubio would have a big future in the Republican party, but today, he is far less prominent and often willing to act as a surrogate for Donald Trump despite his past disdain for the man.
The CNN host was curious about the senator's take on Trump's incredibly dark close to his presidential campaign, asking, "Obviously, there were a lot of people in his campaign that had a very clear idea of what they wanted his closing argument to be, the economy or the border. Are you concerned about some of the tangents he has been going off on the last few days?"
Rubio unsurprisingly answered by making Trump out the be a victim, saying, "This is a man who has been called Adolf Hitler and his supporters have been called subhuman garbage and compared to Nazis by major media outlets. He has to punch back even harder." He later argued, "Let me tell you something: If you call somebody Adolf Hitler, there is really nowhere else to go. That's the worst thing you could label anybody."
"That was his own VP that called him that," Cooper pointed out. Rubio responded, "No, no, no, that was not, that was major outlets in this country."
