“An Election Is My Form Of Coup,” Says Ex-President Accused Of Planning Coup
Donald Trump doesn’t seem to be happy about the several books that are being released right now with more information about his administration and his own behavior. Most recently, I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump’s Catastrophic Final Year by Philip Rucker and Carol D. Leonnig has the former president upset.
One of the segments that has been shared from the book talks about the concern of Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley and others that Trump would attempt to carry out a coup to stay in office — a fear that was realized on January 6th, despite the failure of the insurrection attempt. According to the Washington Post, the book even cites Milley as comparing Trump’s behavior to Adolf Hitler’s use of propaganda and seizure of power.
Trump has issued a vehement denial. You can see his full Telegram post in two screenshots below, opening with an declaration that he never discussed a coup with anyone, and following with further protestations that “an election is my form of coup” and that he would not choose Milley as someone to trust with a coup.
Despite massive Voter Fraud and Irregularities during the 2020 Presidential Election Scam, that we are now seeing play out in very big and important States, I never threatened, or spoke about, to anyone, a coup of our Government. So ridiculous! Sorry to inform you, but an Election is my form of “coup,” and if I was going to do a coup, one of the last people I would want to do it with is General Mark Milley.
By shocking coincidence, using the election — in particular, voter suppression and lies about both the process and outcome — to carry out a coup attempt is actually exactly what Trump has been accused of doing.
