Amy Schumer may be the most highly recognizable female comedian in the industry right now, but what do you really know about her? Though Schumer has revealed a lot of her life through her work in comedy and through her recent semi-autobiographical film, Trainwreck, there are still some things that many people don’t know about her. With that in mind, here we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about Amy Schumer. Check out part one below, and stay tuned for part two, coming soon!

Number Fifteen: She Is Related to a Senator. Schumer is related to Senator Chuck Schumer, who is a democratic senator from New York. At one time, Chuck did not even know who Amy was! He said, “I didn’t know her and now I do.” The two are cousins.

Number Fourteen: She Was a Total Class Clown. In high school, Schumer was voted the “Class Clown,” as well as the “Teacher’s Worst Nightmare.” This makes sense considering her career now.

Number Thirteen: She Is not a Fan of Aunts. Schumer has said that her aunts on both her father and mother’s sides are not very nice people. She said, “They all have personality disorders and I don’t trust them. I have a serious phobia of aunts.”

Number Twelve: She Got Her Break in Trainwreck Because of Traffic. Judd Apatow – director of Trainwreck – was stuck in traffic, he got to listen to Schumer’s interview with Howard Stern. He then got the idea to use her in a movie from the interview.

Number Eleven: She Is an Upper East Side Girl. It’s true! You might not believe it, but Schumer was actually born on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Ironically, she has parodied the neighborhood in her work.

Number Ten: She Got Her Show in Part Because of Charlie Sheen. At Sheen’s Comedy Central roast in 2011, Schumer impressed the crowd with her jokes. She impressed them so much, in fact, that the network offered her a pilot deal after hearing her performance.

Number Nine: She Used to Be a Toe Model. She said that it was just her toes and it was only one foot, but she was a model nonetheless.
