WATCH “America Is My Home Country” Newsmax Host Blasted For Questioning Jewish Loyalty
A Newsmax host is getting backlash after referring to Israel as the ‘home country’ of Jewish people in America today. Addressing Americans, who are registered voters, who happen to also be Jewish, he asked how they can support the Democratic Party while it takes positions in opposition to some specific actions by Israel.
In the clip, Newsmax host Grant Stinchfield shows a few seconds of footage of one New York City Rabbi calling out President Biden’s policies, then returns to express his own views about the Democratic Party and the difference between Biden and Donald Trump. Referring to Democrats’ public support of Palestine, he queries, “If you are Jewish and you are a Democrat and you are living in America today, how do you support an administration that turns its back on your home country?”

This was quickly called out, including by many people who are both Jewish and American, as an antisemitic trope that suggests Jewish people are somehow not American. They explained the link to ‘loyalty tests’ and other divisions that set aside Jewish people as a group required to somehow prove themselves and their loyalty to earn the privilege of being treated as an equal, or an American.

If you are Jewish and living in America, how do you support a party that thinks you're Israeli and not American?

Is this where are you parroted the Jewish trope that American Jews are not Americans??

Why is @stinchfield1776 so anti Semitic, assuming an American Jew would claim Israel as their “home country”? It isn’t possible to be both American and Jewish? Maybe there is a loyalty test you’d like to suggest to test the allegiance of American Jews?

Who’s going to tell this moron that Jewish Americans homeland is….America?
I am the daughter of survivors who emigrated to US in 1949 & became citizens in 1954
Mom’s 3/8 surviving sibs became Israelis as did my dad’s only surviving brother
We are family not fellow citizens

Moreover: As a White person I can say, without betraying my race or my culture, that South Africa was an apartheid state. As a Jewish person I can say, without betraying my faith or my people, that Israel today is an apartheid state.

@stinchfield1776 You are an ignorant piece of garbage. I am Jewish and guess what?! My homeland is AMERICA! How dare you say such bullcrap! Just because we're Jewish does not mean we are Israeli. How dumb are you? Wow.. and you're a tv host? Guess your viewers are as dumb as you.

Does @stinchfield1776 know that the home country of American Jews is, um, America?

Stinchfield, whose Twitter bio includes the line, “views are my own, feel free to adopt them,” has not responded with any follow-up as the general public continues to pile on to let him know why his phrasing was inappropriate and offensive.
