Al Gore Blasts Trump for Bad Response To Coronavirus Pandemic
The Former Vice President, Al Gore, has come out swinging at President Trump over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Gore was also critical of Donald Trump’s “botched reopening” of the country. Gore accused Trump of using the reopening to boost his popularity ahead of the presidential election in November. Gore said in an interview with CNN, “It seems as if he may be recklessly
“I think we’re in grave danger,” Gore said while speaking to Anderson Cooper and Sanjay Gupta in an appearance on CNN.

Gore went on to say, “I think that we are seeing the start of a botched reopening.” Gore also said that Trump was caught up in “magical thinking,” and that Trump was betting on COVID-19 would just go away and the lockdowns could be ended. Gore grimly added that Trump would resort to “divert the blame for the extra tens of thousands of Americans who the doctors tell us will die as a result of this”
The prediction is not without merit. Trump has constantly called for states to lift their lockdowns over the course of several weeks. Trump has even shown support for the “shelter in place” protests that have erupted in some parts of the country. The President even said that he expects more people to die if that happens. He told ABC News, “There’ll be more death.” He added, “It’s possible there will be some because you won’t be locked into an apartment or a house. We can’t sit in the house for the next three years.”
Making matters worse in the eyes of many is the fact that the White House has blocked the publication of a CDC guideline meant to guide states on how to safely reopen. With businesses in some states reopening it is going to be nail-biting as we wait to see if the loss of life rises.
