Adam Schiff Wants To Form A 9/11-Style Commission For Coronavirus
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has been the strongest fighter against President Donald Trump’s daily assaults on our democracy.
From his rockstar performance as House impeachment manager to his perpetual questioning of the mercenary Trump Administration, he’s certainly a voice of reason and calm during these breathtakingly messed up times.
Now, the righteous congressman is in the process of setting up an independent commission that would investigate why the country was so ill-prepared for the coronavirus pandemic.
“After Pearl Harbor and 9/11, we looked at what went wrong to learn from our mistakes,” the House Intelligence Committee chairman said in a tweet. “Once we’ve recovered, we need a nonpartisan commission to review our response and how we can better prepare for the next pandemic.”

Once we've recovered, we need a nonpartisan commission to review our response and how we can better prepare for the next pandemic.
I’m working on a bill to do that.https://t.co/uqO3BwVldN

Although Schiff did not provide specifics as to when the legislation will be dropped, he suggested it would be after Congress finishes the most important work at hand: providing a series of stimulus packages designed to lessen the economic impact of the pandemic.
“We will need to delay the work of the commission until the crisis has abated to ensure that it does not interfere with the agencies that are leading the response,” Schiff told The Washington Post. “But that should not prevent us from beginning to identify where we got it wrong and how we can be prepared for the next pandemic.”
Trump has justly come under much scrutiny over his initial criminally negligent and stupid response to the growing threat of COVID-19. Fox News, the state-sponsored network, has also found itself in the possible throws of major lawsuits over false statements its hosts have made about the virus.
