We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about Aaron Carter, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the “I Want Candy” singer that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!
Number Eight: He Was a Player. We mentioned in part one of this list that Carter dated Hilary Duff; however, while he was dating her, he also began dating Lindsay Lohan. His misstep caused a feud between Duff and Lohan, but Carter broke up with Lohan in 2003 to continue dating Duff. However, he allegedly cheated on Duff later, and they broke up.
Number Seven: He Does Motocross. Carter is a motocross racer, and he even appeared in 2005’s film Supercross, which also starred Channing Tatum, Sophia Bush, and Steve Howey.
Number Six: He Starred in a Reality Show. Carter starred in a show called House of Carters, which ran in 2006. The show centered on Carter and all four of his siblings reuniting to live in the same house.
Number Five: He Was Engaged to a Playboy Model. In 2006, Carter reportedly got engaged to Kari Ann Peniche, who is a beauty queen and former Playboy model. However, Carter later broke the engagement off, and he said that it was an impulsive idea to propose to her.
Number Four: He Went to Rehab. Well, sort of. Carter entered a treatment facility around 2011 because he was struggling with emotional and spiritual issues. His first message to his fans after entering the facility was, “The main thing in life is not to be afraid of being human.”
Number Three: He Was in the World’s Longest-Running Musical. In 2011, Carter began working with an Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks, which is the world’s longest-running musical. The production was held at the Snapple Theater Center, located in New York City, and Carter was cast as the central character of Matt.
Number Two: He Filed for Bankruptcy. In 2013, Carter filed a bankruptcy petition because he was $3.5 million in debt. He owed the IRS $1.3 million in back taxes, and he settled all of his debt by 2014.
