On November 8th of 2016, Donald Trump was elected President of the United States. Since then, there have not been many hopeful days for Democrats. There was a blue wave election during the 2018 midterms, but other than that, happiness has been hard to come by.

After the Democratic National Convention, however, energy and momentum are running high for the left. And not only did the event conclude on Thursday, Donald Trump’s former adviser, Steve Bannon, was arrested on charges of mail fraud. Liberal pundit James Carville gloated that Joe Biden’s speech capped a banner day for Democrats.
The former Democratic strategist made the comments during an appearance on MSNBC’s The 11th Hour. He told Brian Williams, “I thought this was a perfect day. It started with the president’s chief strategist arrested on a 150-foot yacht and it ended with Vice President Biden saying ‘God bless the troops.'”
Carville continued:
“I think what he showed tonight — he was very clear,” Carville added. “He wants to be president of all America, not the base. And I thought that was the real contrast. I really did…But I think today is a very instructive day in where America is. I really do. And I thought the speech was above all — it was really solid. And I think that’s what the country is looking for. Just some solidness, just to knock on that door and know somebody is there. And he did a really good job of that.”
