Each week, a different Republican member of the House of Representatives does something ridiculous and controversial. This week, it is Lauren Boebert’s turn in the barrel.
The Colorado Rep. has spent the last few days saying incredibly racist things about Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar. During a CNN panel, Scott Jennings, a former adviser to Mitch McConnell, was asked what his former boss thinks of Boebert.
“He doesn’t make it a practice typically to come in on what everybody in the House says all the time,” the pundit responded. “But I guarantee you I know what he thinks. And that it’s a garbage comment from a garbage politician.”
Jennings continued, “I’m as anti-Squad as the next Republican, but there’s a way to debate these folks without stooping to this absolute garbage rhetoric.”

The pundit closed:
“I noted, by the way, that Boebert has been forced to apologize. I assume that didn’t happen in a vacuum. And I assume that something is happening behind the scenes. But she, of course, has committed the ultimate sin. Because the people she is being performative for here, are the people who say you should never apologize. And now she’s going to have to deal with the fallout from this narrow group of people that she’s trying to please.”
