A Clip of Trump Walking Awkwardly Went Viral, he Says the Ramp was Slippery

During the 2016 election, the Trump team relentlessly tried to make an issue of Hillary Clinton’s health. When the Democratic candidate came down with pneumonia shortly before the election, the Trump team put a clip of her coughing in a campaign ad.

The GOP has also tried to make an issue of Joe Biden’s age and mental preparedness. As they’ve done this, however, there have been signs that Trump may be having trouble. This includes an awkward walk down a ramp that went viral on Saturday. On Twitter, the President tried to explain away the issue by saying that the ramp was slippery.

Trump made a commencement speech to West Point cadets over the weekend. Prior to the end of the address, he had trouble with a few different words and also drank water in a strange manner.

His walk down the ramp, though, was what drew the most attention. Vox’s Aaron Rupar shared a video of the clip, writing, “Trump descended a ramp extremely carefully at the end of his West Point speech today.”

The hashtag #trumpisnotwell began to trend. As the clip  made it’s rounds on the internet the President took noticed.

At nearly 11:00 PM, the Commander in Chief tweeted, “The ramp that I descended after my West Point Commencement speech was very long & steep, had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery. The last thing I was going to do is “fall” for the Fake News to have fun with. Final ten feet I ran down to level ground. Momentum!”

The White House has yet to comment on the overall health of the President.
