OMG: 8 Shocking Last Words Before Execution

You may have thought about your last meal would be on earth, but what about your last words? Well, these eight criminals who were sentenced to the death penalty had some interesting choices. Keep reading below to see the shocking last words of these eight strange and bizarre criminals.

Number Eight: Sean Patrick Flanagan. Sean Patrick Flanagan murdered homosexuals, but he later admitted he did it because he was a homosexual himself, and other homosexuals motivated him to continue to repress his sexuality. His last words were “I love you” to a male prison guard.

Number Seven: John Wayne Gacy. Killer clown John Wayne Gacy was a rapist and serial killer in the 1970s, and he suffered from a very abusive childhood that led to sexual conflicts as a result. His “alter ego” is what he blamed fro raping and strangling young men. His last words were “Kiss my ass” to a prison guard.

Number Six: Robert Charles Comer. Robert Charles Comer actually pushed for his own execution. He murdered a camper in the woods in 1987, and he also admitted to raping a female camper on that same night. While strapped to a gurney, his last words were “Go Raiders!”

Number Five: Peter Kurten. German serial killer Peter Kurten, also known as the Vampire of Dusseldorf, stabbed and strangled a 5-year-old girl, among a series of other related murders. Blood was apparently very important to his sexual stimulation and thus played a big part in the way he committed his murders. His last words were as follows: “Tell me, after my head is chopped off, will I still be able to hear, at least for a moment, the sound of my own blood gushing from the stump of my neck? That would be the pleasure to end all pleasures.”

Number Four: James D. French. James D. French was an American criminal who killed a motorist while hitchhiking in 1958. He allegedly wanted to commit suicide but was too afraid, so instead he strangled his cellmate in prison so the state would be forced to give him the death penalty. His last words were, “Hows this for your headline? French fries.”

Number Three: Christopher Emmett. Christopher Emmett beat his co-worker to death with a brass lamp and then stole his money. While Emmett initially denied accusations of involvement, he eventually admitted to the crime after damning evidence was found. However, even after he confessed, the state governor refused to grant him amnesty, so his last words were, “Tell my family and friends I love them. Tell the governor he just lost my vote.”

Number Two: Robert Alton Harris. Robert Alton Harris hijacked a car that contained two 16-year-old boys. He made the boys drive to a secluded area and shot them both multiple times. He then went on to rob a bank and was caught soon after. He was executed in 1992, and his last words were, “You can be a king or a street sweeper, but everyone dances with the grim reaper.”

Number One: Gary Gilmore. In 1976, Gary Gilmore shot a gas station attendant and a motel clerk on separate occasions. He was given the choice of being hanged or a firing squad, and he chose the squad. His last words were “Let’s do it,” which, interestingly, was the inspiration behind Nike’s famous tagline, “Just do it.”
