We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about 2pac, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the singer and musician that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!
Number Eight: He Might Have Been Bubba. 2pac’s ex-wife, Keisha Morris, has said that 2pac actually auditioned for the role of Bubba in Forrest Gump. However, he obviously did not get the part.
Number Seven: He Had to Take an HIV Test for Poetic Justice. Before he could film a love scene with Janet Jackson in the film Poetic Justice, Shakur said he had to take an HIV test.
Number Six: He Dated Madonna. 2pac and Madonna dated about one year before he died. She was, at the time, trying desperately to have a child, although she never became pregnant with 2pac’s child. 2pac reportedly broke up with her because his friends kept making fun of him for dating a white girl.
Number Five: He Knew a Lot About Shakespeare. 2pac knew what was up with Shakespeare – specifically, Romeo & Juliet. He said, “You got this guy Romeo from the Bloods who falls for Juliet, a female from the Crips, and everybody in both gangs are against them. So they have to sneak out and they end up dead for nothing. Real tragic stuff.”
Number Four: He Got an Angry Letter From Rashida Jones. Jones reportedly wrote 2pac an angry letter after 2pac criticized her father, Quincy Jones, for dating white women. At the time of 2pac’s death, he was actually engaged to Quincy Jones’ daughter, Kidada Jones.
Number Three: He Broke a Record While in Prison. While 2pac was in prison, his album, Me Against the World, hit number one on the Billboard 200. He was the very first person to accomplish this while in prison.
Number Two: His Ashes Were Smoked. It’s common knowledge that 2pac was cremated, but did you know that some people actually smoked his ashes? Some members of Outlawz reportedly mixed some marijuana with his ashes and smoked it.
Number One: He Was a Total Sap. And we mean that in the best way possible. 2pac began crying while he was having a conversation with Maya Angelou on the set of Poetic Justice.
