When Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016, it motivated a number of incompetent people to run for public office. And now, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Madison Cawthorn are members of the House of Representatives.

Trump’s presidency also signaled to existing GOP lunatics that they can act however they want with no consequences. So people like Paul Gosar put up videos of his killing fellow congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. During a Tuesday segment, Jake Tapper ripped GOP leadership for punishing 13 Republicans who voted for infrastructure while turning a blind eye to Gosar.
The CNN host told viewers:
“The actions of these current House Republicans, Gosar, Greene and others, they’re indecent, sickening. We haven’t heard McCarthy say anything about it. Meanwhile, there’s talk of retaliating and stripping from the committee assignments from the 13 people who voted for — the Republicans who voted for the infrastructure bill, and McCarthy has this allied lobbyist out there trying to get consultants to drop Liz Cheney as a client because she’s speaking out against the Big Lie. these are very bizarre priorities.”
Former GOP Congresswoman Mia Love then weighed in, “What Gosar did is absolutely — it’s more than inappropriate. It’s childish, it’s just not something that i would want a fellow Republican putting out there. And by the way, the staffer that took the time to do this, I mean, I would assume he had better things to do. I would also wonder what time he was using because these people are paid for by the taxpayers.
