Even though you might live a normal life and don’t have that many problems, this is not the case for everyone. A young boy from the Philippines realized that the world wasn’t fair to everyone when he was just 11 years old and decided to be the change he wants to see in the world. He is called Ken and he created his own animal shelter!

While most of us were out playing in the streets at the age of 11 years old, Ken was thinking about ways of making the world a better place. He saw that hundreds of animals were in need of help and he decided to be their savior.

Despite being only 8 years old, Ken started a shelter for stray dogs and cats. This picture shows him feeding some poor dogs and you can clearly see that he loves doing this. One of the worst cases that Ken and his group ever stumbled upon was when he found a group of abandoned puppies. This broke Ken’s heart and he knew that he needed to give them a chance to survive. This is one of the dogs that made a full recovery in Ken’s shelter. The cute dog is called Bohr, after the famous Niels Bohr. Ken loves to name his dogs after famous scientists and the next photo is a great example of that.

Considering that Ken is only 11 years old, we think it’s safe to assume that he doesn’t make any money. Ken says that his shelter is being sustained by donations from kind people. At first, he didn’t have any help from strangers but as soon as he started posting pictures of the dogs he saved, donations started coming in.

Feeding all these strays is expensive and Ken says that all of this wouldn’t be possible without donations. The food is what costs the most because Ken houses tens of dogs and not all of them are lucky enough to be adopted. However, Ken doesn’t pay that much attention to money…
