SANTA CLARITA, CA — Underscoring the wide-ranging support behind her campaign to represent California’s 25th Congressional District seat, today Christy Smith, a former California State Assemblywoman and President of the Newhall School Board, received endorsements from 10 women members of the California State Assembly. Those endorsing Smith for Congress today include:

  1. Assemblymember Autumn Burke
  2. Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez
  3. Assemblymember Blanca Rubio
  4. Assemblymember Buffy Wicks
  5. Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry
  6. Assemblymember Cottie Petrie-Norris
  7. Assemblymember Cristina Garcia
  8. Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan
  9. Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva
  10. Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin

In expressing her gratitude for the endorsement, Christy Smith released the following statement:

“I’m deeply grateful for this support from these key leaders. I’ve worked with each of these members on a range of issues, from creating good union jobs to combatting COVID-19, investing more in public schools, addressing wildfires and the climate crisis, to protecting women’s rights and so much more. It’s an honor to have so many of my former colleagues supporting our grassroots, people-powered, campaign and I look forward to joining forces with them in the weeks and months ahead to flip CA-25 red-to-blue.”

Smith, who received 36,000 more votes than any Democrat ever in CA-25, launched her rematch campaign for Congress by releasing the powerful video ad “Let’s Get This Done”, which features the former Assemblywoman contrasting her vision for the 25th District with Mike Garcia’s cozying up to insurrectionists while highlighting the incredibly close margin in 2020.
